David Totman will be our guest on ALN Th@3 pm ET this week and will talk about the recent ASCE “Fly In” activities on Capitol Hill. Mr. Totman is Thought Leader Strategy with Autodesk’s Innovyze and he is the American Society of Civil Engineers voting member to the US Technical Advisory Group to the ISO Technical Group for ISO 55K in addition to being an ALN Senior Fellow. Values and Benefits from Asset Management

Peter Dodgion, Civil Works Asset Management Chief U.S, Army Corps of Engineers, will be a presenter in the web series “Values and Benefits from Asset Management” co-hosted by the Australian Asset Management Council (AMC) and the ALN. The program will be Wednesday 12 April at 6 pm Eastern. The time accommodates an early morning program for the AMC, which provided more than 300 attendees for the last web program. The USACE Civil Works is the federal agency with the longest history of involvement with ISO 55K and even began studying PAS 55 in the early part of this Century. Mr. Dodgion will be addressing the successes the USACE has seen from its long involvement in a applying a structured approach to asset management in the U.S. Federal Government. USACE Featured by SAME

An article on the Society of American Military Engineers’ web site titled “Optimizing Value through Strategic Asset Management” features the USACE Civil Works Strategic Asset Management Planning process for this decade. The archived article provide perspective on the approach taken by the USACE Civil Works’ more than 25,000-miles of inland and coastal waterways, 926 harbors, 400-mi of shoreline protection, nearly 100,000 environmental permits, 715 dams and more. The article, co-written by Peter Dodgion, provides a background for the presentation he will make on April 12, 2023.

In a powerful demonstration of current capabilities, a series of learning opportunities will be focused on planning a temporary women’s health clinic to be “landed” on the campus of Ankara, Turkey. Asset management principals and fundamentals will be demonstrated through interactive workshops. Funds will be collected to support United Nations earthquake response efforts.
