Wednesday 14 November

Federal Asset Leadership Forum

Venue:  U.S. Capitol Hill Visitors Center (SVC 209-208)

ALN Host: Jack Kelly

Congress creates the statutory framework of authorities that (1) guide the management and financing of federally owned assets, (2) condition federal investments in state and local government assets, (3) influence private sector asset investments, and (4) regulate the operations of many asset-intensive public and private-sector activities.  These statutory authorities guide and constrain implementation decisions by the Executive Branch that determine the make-up and performance of the Nation’s Infrastructure.

The venue for the second day of the Asset Leadership Network’s 5th Annual Asset Leadership Week moves to the Capitol Visitors Center to encourage a closer dialog about important aspects of this statutory framework among representatives of Federal agencies and their Congressional counterparts.  Wednesday’s program begins with a presentation by the General Accountability Office (GAO), the investigative arm of Congress, about the status of effective asset management practices within the Federal government.  A panel of experts will react to the GAO study followed by other presentations on topics of interest to both Executive and Legislative Branch participants.
