Federal Asset Data Handover Summit
October 28, 2025 – Washington, D.C. – Save the date

In the Fall of 2025, the ALN will focus on Asset Data Handover as a key requirement for owners to dramatically improve their mission outcomes with Asset Leadership.

It seems obvious that Asset Data from planning, design, manufacturing, construction, and installation should be immediately available for commissioning, operation, maintenance, and eventual decommissioning. But we consistently hear that owners are not getting their Asset Data in a timely manner and it is costing the industry hundreds of millions in lost revenue and time. This is often because contracts do not require Asset Data to be available in a manner that is immediately useful.

We will inform owners on how improve their mission outcomes through improved contracting and better Asset Data Handover. A series of web programs will lead to an in-person event in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday 28 October. Congress cannot assign a meeting space until 60 days prior to the event, so stay tuned for the location.

In the meantime, this week’s ALN Th@3 pm ET will focus on a key element of Federal Asset Data Handover – revising the Federal Acquisition Regulations. See more below in People, Sources, and Ideas.

ALN Th@3 pm ET will take most of August off and be back “on the air” August 28 with a preview of the upcoming Fall 2025 Asset Data Handover series of papers, events, programs, templates, panels and discussion dedicated to improving Asset Data Handover.

CGI Federal Inc., a wholly owned U.S. operating subsidiary of CGI Inc., is dedicated to partnering with federal agencies to provide solutions for defense, civilian, healthcare, justice, intelligence, and international affairs missions.

People

Tom Ruckdaschel, formerly with DOD and Richard Culbertson, ALN Board Member and Senior Fellow both helped revise the U.S. Federal Acquisition Regulations in 2008. Their response to a June 2025 request for revision recommendations, which also involved Dr. Doug Goetz, includes requiring adherence to ISO 55000 principles and concepts. Join us as Mr. Ruckdschel and Mr. Culbertson discuss the importance of referencing ISO 55000 in the U.S. Federal Acquisition Regulations and the potential benefits to the nation on this week’s ALN Th@3 pm ET. We will also open up the web program to discussion about actions we can take to encourage the Office of Federal Procurement Policy and the Federal Acquisition Regulatory Council to include recommendations regarding ISO 55000.
