Data-Driven Solutions
for Risk and Reliability

People

Admiral (ret.) Thad Allen, USCG, has been a keynote speaker at a previous ALN Annual Event in the National Academy of Sciences and had been a much-appreciated supporter. He is now Senior Executive Advisor with HudsonAnalytix. We are happy Admiral Allen allowed us to point you to his LinkedIn post about his friend Dr. Adrian Lund. Dr. Lund was instrumental in advancing car safety through the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. Admiral Allen’s story relates how Dr. Lund survived a head-on car accident due, in part, to the safety devices he advocated that were in his automobile. It is not often your volunteer work directly results in saving your own life, but we know that professionals working together can achieve amazing accomplishments. The ALN greatly appreciates the contributors to all of our activities an believes that we are making a difference with your help. And we thank Admiral Allen for sharing this story.

ISO 55000 for Power

The ALN Electric Utility Asset Leadership Board and ALN Patron Member ABS Group are pleased to co-publish a White Paper titled, “Adopting the ISO 55000 Asset Management Framework for the Power Industry.” The 11-page, illustrated paper provides an introduction to the ISO 55000 series of standards and explains them in the context of power utilities. The Paper also includes discussion of technology tools and asset management approaches that can be used in conjunction with an ISO 55000 implementation. There are examples of typical issues an organization will confront and the benefits that can be realized. The ALN Electric Utility Asset Leadership Board is proud to partner with ABS Group to make this paper available to Power Industry executives.
