Fern Hollow Bridge Collapse PowerPoint

mustache man

Last week on ALN Th@3 pm ET, Richard Culbertson provided an overview of Pittsburgh’s Fern Hollow Bridge Collapse. Mr. Culbertson, an ALN Board Member and ALN Senior Fellow, is a Pittsburgh resident. He shared publicly available information about the asset management history of the bridge. See his presentation at this link. The presentation prompted discussion in the ALN and we are now discussing how existing bridge standards can be integrated with an asset leadership standard to help prevent similar – or worse – disasters from occurring. Asset Framing Approach –
It is not what you’re Thinking

Trabian Shorters created Asset Framing, an award-winning cognitive frame that engenders understanding, confidence, and inspired action by first focusing on the positive outcomes of mission success. Asset Framing can be seen as the opposite of “deficit framing,” which castes a topic as a “problem” first. Asset Framing melds new understanding of cognition with long-standing notions that our words and stories have power – that we can use to improve mission success. His overwhelmingly positive reply to an ALN email indicates we will be working closely with Mr. Shorters on a presentation and more. Until then, learn more at this link
