Daniel Platz, PhD, United Nations, Senior Economic Affairs Officer, Department of Social and Economic Affairs guided the creation of the UN’s Managing Infrastructure Assets for Sustainable Development: A Handbook for Local and National Governments. Linda Newton, PE, wrote 4 key chapters. They have presented to the ALN in the past, but this “Values and Benefits from Asset Management” program, co-facilitated with the Australian Asset Management Council, will allow them to discuss specific improvements realized around the world because of Asset Management. Project Development at State
Government agencies can learn about advanced processes they might want to adopt and contractors can learn how to win business. Join the first session in the Department of State Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations virtual Directorate-Specific Industry Day Series on Thursday, March 21st, 2 pm-3 pm ET. This first event will feature the Program Development, Coordination, and Support (PDCS) Directorate, led by Managing Director Rick Sullivan, which plays a vital role in cost identification, project management from start to finish, and overseeing projects with unique security requirements. Register at this link.


Consider Neurodivergence in the Workplace
Steve Course, Facility Manager, Retina Mid Atlantic, oversees multiple facilities and has brought his company into using a single CMMS program while dealing with his own neurodivergence. Mr. Course supports awareness Autism, Dyscalculia, and other neurodivergence issues. Dyscalculia is a condition similar to Dyslexia, but numbers and letters are transposed and blurred. When identified and addressed properly, leaders can benefit from the unique contributions of neurodivergent staff. We will discuss what leaders can do to be inclusive of neurodivergent people.
