People

Richard Culbertson, ALN Board Member, has again submitted testimony to a Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission Public Hearing. Mr. Culbertson points out that federal laws and regulations require full reporting of assets and their conditions to obtain funding, such as Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF). The ALN sees that almost all utility companies do not have appropriate asset leadership in place and is reaching out to Congress to request existing laws and regulations be enforced to reduce the number of forest fires created by faulty equipment and inadequate natural asset management. Also, we would like to see less fatalities from gas line explosions. Join us on ALN Th@3 pm ET as Mr. Culbertson shares what can be done to encourage compliance with utility laws and regulations. Sources

The United Nation’s Asset Management Action Plans Registry
(AMAPs) has scores of publicly available documents about water, wastewater, fleets, composting plants, and more. In the special United Nations presentation last week for the Values and Benefits from Asset Management, the AMAPs source of information was held up as an excellent resource for organizations to review and learn from. The United Nations is doing such a good job of introducing structured asset management around the world, let’s work to support their efforts.
