The Kahua Federal Construction Forum 2025 last week encouraged long-term, strategic thinking and use of technology and advanced processes by the U.S. Federal Government. Speakers from USACE, U.S. Department of State, and others showcased the use of Project Management Information Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security and a host of other issues. Kahua’s Nicholas Johnson, Chief Evangelist, and Arielle Scholz, Director, Strategic Partners, will join us on ALN Th@3 pm ET to provide an overview of the dynamic information shared last week at the historic Willard Hotel.
Also, next week, ALN Organizational Member MentorAMP has a special webinar on configured code versus custom code to advance your ability to use software in achieving your Asset Management goals related to “wet” assets. We will provide a short overview of the webinar and talk about the ASCE Report Card with the ASCE Liaison to ISO TC/251 on ALN Th@3 pm ET this week. See more below in People and Sources.

CGI Federal Inc., a wholly owned U.S. operating subsidiary of CGI Inc., is dedicated to partnering with federal agencies to provide solutions for defense, civilian, healthcare, justice, intelligence, and international affairs missions.
Jennifer Zach, CMO, MentorAPM, will be the guest on this week’s ALN Th@3 pm ET to discuss how the company offers configured software – not customizable software – to prevent locking users into a “walled garden” that requires expensive upgrades. A webinar on configuring software will be held on May 7, 2025 at noon Eastern. Since MentorAPM focuses on “wet” asset management involving water, wastewater, and stormwater, we will also talk about these sections of the recently released ASCE Infrastructure Report Card with the ASCE Liaison to TC/251 Asset Management Committee. See more below in Sources.

Wastewater received a D and Stormwater received D. Join us on Thursday at 3 pm to hear why, and what can be done to improve the grades. Register at this link. Donate to a Good Cause
In 2022, the ALN worked with the newly formed Footprint Project to demonstrate how sound Asset Management could assist solar powered microgrid assets help generate power for hospitals in Ukraine through a web workshop. Real assets were delivered to Kyiv and assistance was provided thanks to the newly formed non-profit. The Footprint Project has continued delivering renewable energy generation, microgrids and other energy-related assistance post-disaster in the U.S. and elsewhere. The organization has started a financial and in-kind donation program to prepare for the upcoming seasons of disaster that are only increasing in intensity. Consider assisting a very good cause.
