Highway Asset Management
The National Academies once again provides an excellent source of information, this time a report on the applications of RFID and wireless tech in highway construction asset management published last week. See the document at this link. Supplemental to the report are NCHRP Web-Only Document 364: Applications of RFID and Wireless Technologies in Highway Construction and Asset Management: Conduct of Research Report, Implementation of Research Findings and Products, and an Excel Technology Implementation Evaluation Tool.
Guidehouse, an ALN Patron Member, has a series of papers on megatrends, one of which is Maximizing Data. In a two-part paper, Guidehouse executives Brian Jones, DO, Partner, Health and CJ Donnelly, Partner, Data, Analytics & Intelligence spell out steps, including establishing a phased approach to data ecosystems that creates a manageable approach to the continuous explosion of data all around us.
November 29 and December 6 – 6 pm Eastern – ALN Senior Fellow Marty Rowland and colleagues will present “Decarbonizing the Economy – Challenges and Prospectives” through the Henry George School of Sociology. The three lectures will address challenges and benefits of moving away from a carbon economy.

January 10, 2024 – The Asset Leadership Network is pleased assist in the promotion of U.S. Government Accountability Office reports on deferred maintenance (GAO-21-497 & GAO-24-105485) and the National Academies’ “Strategies for Renewing Federal Facilities.” Representatives from the GAO, National Academies, and the ALN will present on the impact of these documents at the Keck Center.
