Last week, David Totman was promoted to Autodesk Director – Infrastructure Industry Strategist. Combined with his other roles as the American Society of Civil Engineers liaison to ISO 55000, ALN Senior Fellow and more, this place David in an influential position to positively move infrastructure industry toward a culture of asset management. We are fortunate Mr. Totman will be joining us this week on ALN Th@3 pm ET to talk about how this promotion advances his already influential position in U.S. and global infrastructure improvements. What is an Asset?

Colby Manwaring joined MentorAPM as Chairman of the Board. Mr. Manwaring was CEO of Innovyze, (where Mr. Totman worked) and sold the company to Autodesk last year. Upon fulfillment of obligations with Autodesk, Mr. Manwaring immediately joined ALN Member Organization MentorAPM, which provides software for connecting assets, workforce, and data to transform organizational operations and outcomes. This combined with the recent announcement of strategic investor funding for MentorAPM strongly positions Asset Management as an achievable approach to operations for utilities and all organizations.

AI Perspectives

Last week, the Washington Post hosted a series of discussions on “The Rise of AI” that included Senator Charles E. Schumer (D-NY). This week, the Biden Administration issued an Executive Order on AI. It’s not really an “idea” to keep up on Artificial Intelligence, it’s a business necessity. Look to the ALN for more practical demonstrations of using AI in your operations in coming months.
