Richard Culbertson, ALN Board of Directors, and ALN Senior Fellow, is helping stand up the ALN Gas Utility Asset Leadership Board to help focus on the many ways this industry can improve through the use of a structured approach to asset management. Unfortunately, improvements often come after tragic failures and ensure legal settlements. On March 3, the ALN Th@3 pm ET discussion will focus on an investment group that has sued a gas company that experienced a fatal failure that destroyed buildings and impacted 30,000 people. Mr. Culbertson will talk about suit and how the investment group is seeking recovery from damages caused by inferior management and requesting that management meet applicable standards of practice.

ReNew Canada

Jack Dempsey, Director, Definitive Logic; NAS BICE Board Member, ALN Board of Directors, and ALN Senior Fellow shared this link with Canada’s infrastructure magazine. Canada is well ahead of the U.S. in understanding and implementing a structured approach to asset management and there is much to learn from the information on infrastructure in the back issues of ReNew Canada as are prepare the IIJA spending. The magazine covers all infrastructure sectors, promotes best practice, covers legal and financing and more.

CNAM AM 101

ALN supporter Iain Cranston, President, icInfrastructure, alerted us to the Canadian Network of Asset Manager’s “Asset Management 101” booklet. Available for free in PDF format, the 30-page document is an excellent document for those who are beginning their asset management journey. Consider sharing it with colleagues, potential clients, your local government, other organizations where you are a stakeholder.
